Abstract

To measure voltage distribution of the converter thyristor valve and valve components under lightning impulse voltage is uniform or not, this research developed a small wide-band high-voltage divider. Because the performance of a voltage divider could be affected significantly by the stray capacitance, this paper adopts resistive and capacitive voltage divider in parallel structure, and uses stray capacitance as the high-voltage arm capacitance of the divider. Based on the distribution of the different stray capacitance, 3 different kinds of shapes shields have been designed. The influences of different distribution of stray capacitance in electric circuit are analyzed, with the application of ANSYS software, stray capacitance of the 3 kinds of shields divider is simulated by a FEM model. The Calculation results show that the performance of triangular shield could be better. Finally, according to the analysis and calculations, a square-wave response test is carried out for the divider, the test results and theoretical analysis show that the frequency response of the divider could reach 15M or more.
