Abstract

Backgound and Objectives: The Vietnamese Hospital Quality Standards was enacted in year 2013 to help hospitals assess their healthcare service quality. After one year of use, the study tried to determine the status of healthcare service quality of hospitals in Can Tho city in year 2014, and whether the difference of quality among 3 groups of hospitals and 4 groups of standards or not. Materials and Methods: The retrospective study was applied to assess the service quality of 22 hospitals including 7 district general public hospitals (group 1), 12 city specialized and general public hospitals (group 2) and 3 private hospitals (group 3). Results: The mean scores per each standard and hospital were 3.13 and 256.18. The differences among the mean scores per each standard of three groups of hospitals were not statistically significant (p = 0.55). Conclusion: Hospitals achieved at least the fair level (3 ≤ Scores < 4) of service quality and had no statistically significant gap of service quality among district and city public and private hospital.
