Abstract

By the use of the singular point method, singular stress fields at the tips of a crack kinking at and going through the bonded interface of two semi-infinite anisotropic media are analyzed. The bonded media are subjected to longitudinal shear stresses. The stress singularities at the kink point of the crack are determined by a characteristic equation derived from singular integral equations with generalized Cauchy kernels. Numerical results of stress intensity factors are given for various crack geometries as well as the combination of elastic constants of the bonded media.
