Abstract

The relationship between pediatricians and the infantfood/pharmaceutical industry in Sweden seems to be different than it is in the United States. The contrast is highlighted by two sets of observations: 1. The Swedish Paediatric Association has criticized the role of the infant-food industry in poor countries and it has published a code of ethics for marketing infant foods.1 On May 18, 1979, the Association issued a statement2 indicating that it intends to monitor the activities of the Swedish companies in Turkey.
