Abstract

Three types of electromagnetic stirrers for continuous casting machines are compared. They are an electromagnetic stirrer and synchronous permanent magnet stirrers. Analytical methods for calculating electromagnetic fields and electrical parameters are used. The initial data are presented: sizes of a crystallizer continuous casting machine, parameters of windings, parameters of permanent magnets and used materials. Analysis of magnetic induction, current, power and rotation speed of a molten metal are presented depending on the magnetic field frequency in the crystallizer continuous casting machine. The comparison of energy characteristics for different types of electromagnetic stirrers is presented.
