This association and the attendant problems in management are not discussed in the recent literature.In the treatment of patients with gastric ulcer we have been repeatedly confronted with a difficult decision as to the advisability of surgery when the presence of complicating pulmonary disease seriously increased the operative risk of subtotal gastric resection.
