Abstract

The protectionist course of foreign policy of the Republican administration D. Trump, has received in recent years a very acute form of trade-economic rivalry of the United States with China, the introduction of Washington's new sanctions and protective customs barriers in foreign trade with a significant number of countries, including the countries-allies in NATO, has as its natural consequence of the massive contradictions between the United States and the European Union. In conditions of permanent escalating "trade war" with China, the EU finds itself in the position of a third party, which very adversely affected by the imposition of extremely complex of adverse factors, exacerbated by the pandemic coronavirus and the resulting global crisis of the world economy. D. Trump consistently implemented in the foreign economic sphere the policy of tough economic dominance in all fields under the pretext of protecting the national security of the United States, based on the stated priority of his administration "America First".
