Abstract
The overall result of this research project can be assessed with respect to its technical usefulness as follows: For the entire temperature application range of HT-SGs extending from approximately 85°C to approximately 1000°C, a complete survey about the actual usefulness of the three main types of resistance SGs is given, for the first time with the measuring accuracy that can be achieved with respect to their typical response. When the thermal application limits and the measuring accuracy, as well as the failure risk, are known, one can decide whether the HT-SGs available are of practical use for a specified measuring task and which measuring efficiency may be expected of them.
