Abstract

The BRST treatment of collective coordinates is extended to cases in which there is a partial breakdown of symmetries in the mean-field approximation. The resultant symmetries of the wave functions are discussed, as well as the form of the residual interactions and, in particular, of the usual Coriolis term. An application to the Bohr collective hamiltonian is made as an illustration.
