Abstract

Immigrant Haitian women in New York City (NYC) have the highest rate of Severe Maternal Morbidity of 494.0 per 10,000 deliveries, compared to 229.8 for U.S.-born women. We sought to understand pregnant and postpartum Haitian women’s barriers to healthcare services in NYC and explore ways to improve their overall health outcomes.
