Abstract

In response to the growing utility of the Internet, more and more physicians have obtained access to the online world, creating a widespread interest in this new media and the resources it provides. Accordingly, a new position—online editor—has been created on the editorial boards of each of theArchivesjournals of the American Medical Association. This editor will keep the readership informed on Internet issues and provide a forum to discuss the academic, ethical, and legal implications of electronic communication. In addition, he or she will coordinate the content of the journal's presence on the World Wide Web. 1
