Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of the daily ward management practice on the life intervention of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) patients, and provide the basis for the development of the guidance plan. Methods A total of 390 patients with GDM confirmed by OGTT in the obstetrical clinic and in our hospital were selected and were randomly divided into intervention group and control group, 195 cases of each group.The control group was guided by the traditional GDM health education method.With regard to the intervention group, the patients participated in GDM one-day ward training and learning based on traditional health education.In addition, regular phone follow-up visit was conducted to patients.The knowledge of GDM and blood glucose monitoring were compared between the two groups.The blood glucose and pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results The differences were statistically significant between the two groups in GDM related knowledge and the monitoring of glucose control methods, maternal birth and child outcomes, maternal outcomes and 42 days postpartum blood glucose monitoring(P<0.05). One day ward management practice mode was implemented in patients with GDM, and its satisfaction reached 98.5%. Conclusions A one-day ward management practice model can effectively control the blood glucose of patients with GDM, and reduce the incidence of complications in patients and neonatal perinatal period.
