The Alto Douro Wine Region: potentialities for the development of environmental education projects

espanolLa Region del Alto Duero Vinatero (ADWR), Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en la categoria de paisaje cultural, se ubica en el NE de Portugal y posee caracteristicas mesologicas y climaticas unicas de las cuales resulta un patrimonio diversificado que importa cuidar. El desarrollo de proyectos de Educacion Ambiental (EA) en las escuelas permite que las nuevas generaciones se vuelvan mas conscientes de la necesaria preservacion del patrimonio comun. En este trabajo se presenta un estudio, en fase inicial de desarrollo, que involucra la creacion y dinamizacion de proyectos multidisciplinarios en las escuelas de ADWR, aprovechando las potencialidades que la region ofrece para implementar una cultura de EA. El estudio se divide en tres fases, la metodologia a utilizar es la de trabajo de proyecto y el area geografica de intervencion comprende las 18 escuelas pertenecientes a los municipios que abarca la ADWR. Este estudio pretende contribuir a la promocion de una Educacion para el Desarrollo Sostenible, la adquisicion de nuevas competencias, el desarrollo de la cultura y la alfabetizacion cientifica de los agentes escolares EnglishThe Alto Douro Wine Region (ADWR), UNESCO’s World Heritage Site in the cultural landscape category is in the northeast of Portugal and possesses unique mesological and climate conditions from which it results a diversify patrimony important to take care of. The projects development of Environmental Education (EE) in schools allows that younger generations become more aware about the necessary preservation of the common patrimony. In this paper it is introduced an initial stage of development study that involves the creation and promotion of interdisciplinary projects in the schools of ADWR, taking advantage of the potentialities that the region offers to implement a culture of EE. The study is divided into three stages, the methodology used is work project, and the geographic area of intervention comprises the 18 schools belonging to the counties that include the ADWR. This study seeks to contribute to the promotion of an Education to Sustainable Development, the acquisition of new skills and the development of the scientific culture and literacy of the schools’ agents.
