Abstract

Cattle farming is an intensive branch of agricultural production, a market for the means of production and industrial products, a source of income for the economy and a means of superior capitalization of natural resources (CARP-CARARE, 2004). Among cattleproduction, milk is the most important due to its complex chemical composition, biological value, and a high degree of digestibility, it contains over 100 substances necessary for the human body. The colostrum subperiod lasts from the birth of the calves to the age of one week. In this subperiod, the calves are fed exclusively with colostrum, which maintains the connection between the organism of the newborn calf and the maternal one. In this paper the experimental data came from twelve cows of the Spotted with Romanian black breed from the farm located in Covaci, of which five cows are primiparous and seven multiparous. The samples were analyzed using the MilkoScan apparatus for the determination of protein, fat, lactose and dry matter. In multiparous cows the average daily protein concentration (6.85%) is lower (p> 0.05) by 1.13% than that recorded in the case of primiparous cows (7.98%), distinctly statistically significant difference. The coefficient of variability has the value of 57.743 in primiparous cows and 59.735 in multiparous cows. Colostrum milk samples were taken every four hours, immediately after calving, for three days (18 milks/cow), resulting in 90 samples in primiparous cows and 126 samples in multiparous cows.Colostrum samples were collected every 4 hours during the first three days (72 hours) after parturition.
