Abstract
The article defines the essence of neoclassical lyrics while studying the works of the “Five Grones” poets at school. It defines the methodological conditions of this literary work, clarifies the meaning of the concepts of “neoclassic”, “neoclassicism” and presents their interpretation in the teaching methodology of the Ukrainian literature.Analyzing the genesis of the Ukrainian “neoclassics”, the genetic-typological context is given and the model of the three-level development of the classical heritage of the “Five Grones” poets is presented. The essential role of antiquity as a cultural potential is emphasized. It is evidenced by the dominance of abstract-meditative and cultural topics, the appeal to enduring aesthetic values and classic “eternal” images that effectively create the allusion of modern being, a high culture of an artistic word and a verbal image.Parnassism as an essential structural element based on philosophicalism, intellectualism and elitist aesthetics has been traced. At the heart of the “neo-classical philosophy of aesthetism” there is the idea of perfecting reality with a perfect artistic means, which makes it possible to transform chaos into harmony and beauty of forms. Clarism in the neoclassical artwork is evidenced by an expressive objectivity, clarity and transparency of the image, a clear and measured thought. The analysis of stylistic tendencies of modernism in the artwork of Kyiv poets expresses the priority of symbolism (a great attention is paid to the unconscious spheres of the human psyche, penetration into the transcendental essence of phenomena, suggestiveness and a harmonic-polyrhythmic element of the lyrics). The article presents the interpretation of individual works of M. Zerov, M. Drai-Khmara, P. Filippovych and Yurii Klen, which allows the teacher to demonstrate their ideological credo, artistic and philosophical conception and style evolution. The observation results prove the similarity of motives, images, ideas in the lyrics of “neoclassics”, which motivates the necessity for a holistic perception of their creativity. The synthesis of classical traditions with modern techniques of their reinterpretation has underlined the desire of poets to create a new universal style, an art of an elitist type in a difficult historical and cultural situation.
