Abstract

The 8th Annual Meeting of the Society of Australasian Social Psychologists (SASP) was hosted by the Psychology Departments at the University of Adelaide and Flinders University. The program included a postgraduate preconference workshop, a Keynote Address by Professor Nyla Branscombe (University of Kansas), a Presidential Address by Professor Mike Innes (Murdoch University) and 117 paper presentations that were organised into 7 symposia, 11 thematic sessions, and 1 poster session. Papers covered a broad range of topics in social psychology including social influence, social justice, social identity and intergroup relations, stereotyping, prejudice, law and social psychology, critical social psychology, organisational psychology, interpersonal relationships, culture and values, media and communication, and health and wellbeing.The organising committee would like to extend their thanks to the following sponsors of the SASP 2002 conference: The Australian Psychological Society (APS), Department of Psychology, University of Adelaide, School of Psychology, Flinders University, the Vice-Chancellor's Office, Flinders University, Flinders Branch of the ANZ Bank, Pearson Education (Australia), SAGE Publications and Blackwell Publishing Asia.
