Abstract
The Meeting was held in Ponta Delgada (San Miguel, Azores Islands) and was organized by Vasco Garcia (local organizer), Cec i lia Le a o , Maria C. Loureiro-Dias and Isabel Spencer-Martins . The organizers did an excellent job in collaboration with the University of Azores. In addition to its high scientific quality, two traditional objectives of the SMYTE meeting are: to promote lively discussion through short oral presentations, and to encourage young researchers to present their results in an amiable environment. A total of 31 oral presentations (plus two posters) were presented by the 47 participants in the meeting.
