Abstract

The elimination of COD and color from textile effluent by electrochemical treatment using MMO-titanium electrode material was investigated. Three factors and five-level full-factorial central composite designs (CCD), which was used on Response Surface Methodology (RSM), was considered in favor of exploratory design. A CCD consisting of 20 experimental runs was utilized toward assessing the impacts of the three components, current (0.24–0.44 A), pH (5–9), and time (30–90 min) on the COD removal efficiency (Y1) and color removal efficiency (Y2) of textile wastewater. The ANOVA results show that the model was satisfactory to signify the responses variations. The R2 and Adj-R2 for COD removal were obtained as 94.95 and 90.41%, respectively. Similarly, R2 and Adj-R2 for color removal were obtained as 96.47 and 93.39%, respectively. The optimum conditions for the COD and color removal were found to be 0.44 A, pH 5.0, and with a time of 90 min.
