Abstract

The spin tensor moments 〈T20〉, 〈T21〉 and 〈T22〉 of deuterons from 16O-d elastic scattering have been measured as a function of angle at an average deuteron bombarding energy of 6.34 MeV using the 3He(d, p)4He reaction as an analyser. Absolute cross sections for the reactions 16O(d, d)16O, 16O(d, p)17O (ground state and 0.871 MeV state) and 16O(d, α)14N (ground state) have been obtained as a function of angle at 5.755, 6.260 and 6.765 MeV and as a function of energy between 4.385 and 8.430 MeV for several angles. An analysis of these measurements has been performed using the optical model and the distorted-wave and Hauser-Feshbach theories.
