Abstract

Tendon chloride space in normal and adrenalectomized rats is equal to tendon water. Sodium space is about 81% of tendon water in normal rats and about 68% in adrenalectomized rats. Inulin space at 24 hours remains well below both sodium and chloride spaces; sucrose space at 24 hours is about as high as sodium space, but well below chloride space. One hour after injection tendon water is less penetrated by sucrose or inulin in adrenalectomized than in normal rats, but at 8 hours and 24 hours there is no significant difference between adrenalectomized and normal.
