Abstract

1. A temperature method has been developed for rating the carbon deposition properties of jet fuels, based on measuring the flame tube wall temperature, which changes as a function of carbon deposit formation on the walls during turbojet engine operation. 2. The evaluation is performed in a special small-size turbojet engine. The test period is five minutes. One kilogram of test fuel is required to determine the carbon number of a fuel. The-deviation among parallel test results does not exceed 10%.
