Abstract
In this work the collisional broadening and shift rates of the Rb D2 (52S1/2–52P3/2) transition induced by 4He gas had been measured. A novel full-quantum calculations based on the Baranger theory were also presented to understand the observation. The calculation results were compared with other experimental measurements and predictions from the semi-classical Anderson–Talman theory and other full-quantum theoretical calculations. Compared with prior calculations based on the scattering matrix, our calculations are more self-consistent and show better agreement with experimental results.
