Abstract

AbstrakDambus merupakan nama alat musik tradisional yang berasal dari Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Dambus memiliki konsep dasar pada permainannya yang membuat sebuah komposisi sederhana yang dituangkan dalam bentuk pengalaman asimilatif. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan teknik permainan dan gaya permainan dambus oleh seniman dan pengrajin bernama Zaroti. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualititaif, pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Analisis deskriptf ditempuh untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang objek yang diteliti. Teknik permainan dambus Zaroti memiliki komponen inti, keunikan, dan kesamaan dengan teknik permainan gitar pada umumnya. Pada tangan kiri, posisi jari telunjuk, jari tengah, dan jari manis berfungsi untuk memainkan melodi. Pada tangan kanan, jari tangan kanan berfungsi untuk pemetik atau penghasil bunyi alat musik. Pada permainan dambus Zaroti, nada yang dihasilkan adalah pada tangga diatonis mayor dan minor harmonis. Permainan dambus Zaroti sekaligus menerapkan teknik fingering, teknik barre, teknik slide, dan teknik slur. AbstractDambus is the name of a traditional musical instrument originating from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Dambus has a basic concept in his playing that makes a simple composition poured in the form of assimilative experience. This paper aims to describe the playing technique and playing style of the dambus by an artist and craftsman named Zaroti. This study uses a qualitative approach, collecting data from interviews, observation, and document study. Descriptive analysis was taken to understand the object under study deeply. Zaroti's dambus technique has core components, uniqueness, and similarities with guitar playing techniques in general. On the left hand, the position of the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger functions to play the melody. On the right hand, the fingers pick or produce a musical instrument's sound. The notes produced in Zaroti's dambus playing are on the diatonic major and harmonic minor scales. Zaroti's dambus game simultaneously applies fingering techniques, barre techniques, slide techniques, and slur techniques.
