The article examines the main challenges, faced by scientists and lawmakers in development of a regulatory framework for such technologies. The article reflects on the analysis of basic approaches, principles and concepts of regulation of AI technologies. The analysis revealed that the development and application of AI has raised many controversial legal and ethical issues, as well as complex institutions of law and legislation, and possibly even new branches of law.
Today, there is a lot of controversy among scientists in definition of a unified approach to the concept of "artificial intelligence". And this, in turn, affects the development of the legal framework, what requires a coordinated approach of specialists from different fields of research: technical, legal, ethical, etc. Also important and open to discussion is the ethical side of using such technologies. As it is seen, the concept of respect for human dignity has a high chance of being the basis for the legal regulation of AI. Because, even with differing views on the definition of AI, the goal of protecting human rights and ensuring their fundamental freedoms must remain paramount.
Important is the fact, that the immediate subject of research is technology, which is characterized by unprecedented speed and scale of development and change. This threatens the emergence of a significant number of risks and challenges to human rights, freedoms and legitimate interests, due to new advances in AI development. Scientists point out that one of the main challenges is to increase the gap between the rapid level of development of AI technologies and their implementation in society on the one hand, and the lack or obsolescence of research and legislation.
Another controversial issue addressed in the article is the uncertainty of the development of these technologies, which requires close cooperation of legal scholars with specialists involved in the development of AI systems to anticipate possible human rights violations that such technology may cause, as well as anticipation of the level and types of responsibility for the actions of AI systems.

The research about the women parliament candidacy based on problems, theory, methodology and research analysis being utilized by the researcher aims at 1) unveiling affirmative action policy in accordance to the 2003 Public Election regulation (UU) and the 2008 political party regulation that are suitable policy along with efforts to enhance women representativeness in parliament within regional autonomy framework; 2) elaborating political party supports towards quota fulfillment process of 30 percent in line with the 2009 public election regulation; 3) describing and criticizing mass media roles in the process of the political communication of women candidates of DKI Jakarta Province in 2009; 4) discovering and exploring quality of the political communication of women candidates of DKI Jakarta Province 2009; 5) highlighting women efforts and struggles regarding the regulation of political quota and regional autonomy are so-called ‘counter hegemony’ movement. Paradigm used in the research is critical paradigm with Gramcsian analysis model. Theory and concept of this research are Antonio Gramcsi’s thoughts; hegemony-counter hegemony, political network alliance, political communication, radical feminism, mass media in the New Marxist perspective (Gramcsian) and regional autonomy concept. The research uses qualitative approach with case study method and feminist research as well as equipped by method of the Gramcsian-Marxist analysis. Results and discussion of the research argue that women have been undergoing marginalization both culturally and structurally in the political realm resulting in injustice of their representativeness in parliament. The notion becomes rooted in the social structure and system and has been going as a cultural system which is patriarchy system. The women altogether have to establish and belong to a solid network alliance to give pressure towards the government; those are in power and the state in order to transform conditions of women representativeness in parliament. They are therefore expected to have bargaining position that is balanced or even stronger with the state. The position is needed by women in that they can compete with men and create broader opportunity by which they achieve it by the release of the 2009 political party regulation and the running of the regional autonomy regulation. In the Gramcsi’s concept, the equality of bargaining position between women movement, represented as civil society and the state represented as political community highly likely produce conceptual/intellectual and practical clashes to establish new hegemony whose consequence is to prosper woman community and broader civil society as well as political community. In this phase, Gramcsi names it as ‘counter hegemony’ movement in which women can present themselves and bear new hegemony after winning the conceptual war against the old hegemony. The women’s struggles to run candidacy of The 2009 DKI regional election took a form of ‘counter hegemony’. The effort was undertaken so that the women can owe high bargaining position in politics that is influenced by the other power namely mass media. The need to supports of media industry is inevitable. Media industry, as institution having capital ideology, might highly possible be used by women movement/ the civil. In addition, women can take benefits from media to assist struggles of ‘counter hegemony’. As a consequence, the women’s struggles of counter hegemony are complicated to do due to partial and incomprehensive efforts. The women political candidates of DKI Jakarta possess resistant movement spirit or fighting movement to transform cultural values of patriarchy especially in politics. In this notion, it is evident that emancipation ideology is not effective to strengthen the movement unless it is as communal vision and mission from elements of struggles that can produce women great energy to achieve their goals. The energy is no other than ‘collective will’ considered as fighting ideology which is necessary therein fighting ideas of women have constant and significant energy. AI brings ethical and legal issues, the discrimination, and workplace safety risks. Decision making through AI techniques is changing the relationships between individuals as we know them today. The development of AI and the integration of these systems into essential services for the population can accentuate imbalances in society and between states. Generating certain predictive models by identifying patterns in the collected data and grouping people in this way can lead to discrimination against certain groups (bias can be encoded in algorithms). Errors or biases may also occur that affect the integrity and confidentiality of information where it is difficult to understand how AI makes data security decisions. In the absence of human supervision and boundary drawing, autonomous AI may hold big surprises. The article will analyse some aspects related to the risks that the use of AI systems involves on fundamental rights, with reference to private life, data protection, non-discrimination regarding and to the effects that the development of AI has in creating new social inequalities.

With the rapid development of the global economy, competition among multinational corporations has become increasingly fierce. To gain a competitive edge in the international market, enterprises must enhance their core competitiveness and expand their global business footprint. Therefore, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) have become a key strategic tool for enterprises to accelerate development. In the development process of the media industry, M&A activities are also an important means to integrate resources and enhance market competitiveness. The merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, as well as cases such as Warner's acquisition of Detective Comics (DC), provide rich samples for studying the successful experiences and potential risks of M&A in the media industry. This paper, through case analysis of M&A of different companies and their final results, and by using the event study method and case study method, deeply analyzes the related issues of M&A in the media industry. It aims to provide warnings for the M&A behaviors of current media giants to avoid similar risks and offer valuable references for industry participants.

BackgroundConsidering the disruptive potential of AI technology, its current and future impact in healthcare, as well as healthcare professionals’ lack of training in how to use it, the paper summarizes how to approach the challenges of AI from an ethical and legal perspective. It concludes with suggestions for improvements to help healthcare professionals better navigate the AI wave.MethodsWe analyzed the literature that specifically discusses ethics and law related to the development and implementation of AI in healthcare as well as relevant normative documents that pertain to both ethical and legal issues. After such analysis, we created categories regrouping the most frequently cited and discussed ethical and legal issues. We then proposed a breakdown within such categories that emphasizes the different - yet often interconnecting - ways in which ethics and law are approached for each category of issues. Finally, we identified several key ideas for healthcare professionals and organizations to better integrate ethics and law into their practices.ResultsWe identified six categories of issues related to AI development and implementation in healthcare: (1) privacy; (2) individual autonomy; (3) bias; (4) responsibility and liability; (5) evaluation and oversight; and (6) work, professions and the job market. While each one raises different questions depending on perspective, we propose three main legal and ethical priorities: education and training of healthcare professionals, offering support and guidance throughout the use of AI systems, and integrating the necessary ethical and legal reflection at the heart of the AI tools themselves.ConclusionsBy highlighting the main ethical and legal issues involved in the development and implementation of AI technologies in healthcare, we illustrate their profound effects on professionals as well as their relationship with patients and other organizations in the healthcare sector. We must be able to identify AI technologies in medical practices and distinguish them by their nature so we can better react and respond to them. Healthcare professionals need to work closely with ethicists and lawyers involved in the healthcare system, or the development of reliable and trusted AI will be jeopardized.

Having discussed in previous chapters the valuable contribution that an assessment model encompassing human rights, ethical and societal issues can provide to the development and regulation of AI, these concluding remarks address some of the challenges we face in implementing this approach in tangible reality. The focus on future global regulatory scenarios in the field of AI shows how the holistic HRESIA model, which includes the contextualisation of human rights and socio-ethical values in a given area, could be an effective answer for both the countries which have a human rights-based AI regulation and those who do not. In addition, holistic assessment and values-oriented design procedures can build trust in the development of AI, addressing the increasing public concern for invasive and pervasive AI applications, as well as the growing attention of policy makers to the side effects of AI use in the presence of concentration of power in digital services.

The aim of this preliminary study is to disseminate the reliability of Ethical and Legal Issues in Counseling Self-Efficacy Scale (ELICSES). ELICSES consists of 23 items and it is used to measure trainee counselors’ self-efficacy in dealing with legal and ethical issues. We performed a small-scale study to assess the degree of reliability in a university setting. The findings revealed acceptable internal consistency reliability of the full scale and three subscales. Hence, the scale is an ideal instrument to measure trainee counselors’ self-efficacy in dealing with legal and ethical issues. However, we suggest the future researchers work on test-retest reliability and examine ELICSES across cultures involving multination.

In this book, Mads Møller T. Andersen examines the methodological challenges that arise when studying creativity and creative processes in media industries, arguing that the field of media studies still has much to learn about how these industries facilitate their own creative processes. Andersen introduces and utilizes a theoretical framework of five traditions in creativity to guide readers through five different methods of approaching and understanding the concept of creativity, exploring whether media scholars should abandon current, romantic understandings of creativity in favor of more progressive and nuanced definitions. Ultimately, Andersen considers and offers examples of how, as a discipline, we can design studies of creative processes that also address what we still don’t know about creativity in these contexts. Scholars interested in media studies, cultural studies, and research methods will find this book particularly useful.
