Abstract
Subglottic stenosis (SGS) continues to present challenges to the surgeon. Treatment options for severe SGS have evolved over the past 3 decades; however, deciding which procedure to use in a particular situation remains difficult. Options for open surgical procedures to treat severe SGS include laryngotracheoplasty with cartilage expansion, partial crico-tracheal resection with anastomosis, or a combination of the two. It is essential to carefully evaluate each patient and select the most appropriate surgery for that particular patient to achieve success.
