Abstract

Marcie Paul, assistant professor of Spanish, and Lawrence McAndrews, assistant professor of history, began teaching fulltime at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, in the fall of 1985. Among Paul's courses was Con temporary Latin American Literature and Culture. One of McAndrews* of ferings was The History of Latin America. In 1987, funded by a Title VI International Studies Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, they began preparing a course that com bined their common interests and ex pertise in the literature and history of Central America. What follows con cerns the setbacks and successes of their interdisciplinary team-teaching experi ence, The History and Literature of Central America.
