Abstract

The teacher's activity aimed at further developing his professionalism and competence can show its results in two directions. Firstly, it elevates the teacher to the top of his profession, forms him as a master teacher, and secondly, it has a significant impact on better learning of students, acquisition of life skills and personal formation. hese problems were touched upon in the article, the analysis of various models of teacher competence existing in the pedagogical literature was given, the main parameters of the teacher's self-preparation and self-development directions were reviewed.
