Brain is one of the most frequent sites of metastasis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Patients with central nervous system (CNS) metastasis generally suffer from deterioration of performance status and therefore do not have a long survival time.Recently, several studies have documented the effectiveness of targeted therapy in the treatment of CNS metastasis of NSCLC.These treatments might be effective for CNS metastasis of NSCLC especially in epidermal growth factor receptor gene mutation-type cases.
