Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the spirit of Taekwondo from a Confucian perspective. To solve this problem, a literature analysis was conducted on the spirit of Taekwondo from a Confucian perspective. In the existing literature on the spirit of Taekwondo, it was found that only the ethical spirit was recognized while insisting on the spirit of Taekwondo at the ethical, technical, and psychological levels. However, as a result of analyzing the rules of Poomsae and Poomsae games, which are the essence of technology that implies the Taekwondo principle, from a Confucian perspective, it was found that the spirit of Taekwondo, which has the essence of martial arts, should be emphasized on the technical level. Accordingly, the spirit of Taekwondo at the technical level was found to be Jeol-mok, Si-joong, and Jo-hwa.
