Abstract

The recently published report, The Impact of Organisation and Management Factors on Infection Control in Hospitals: A Scoping Review(National Nursing Research Unit, 2008), reveals that the United Kingdom is not alone in fighting healthcare-associated infection (HCAI). Although this review confirms that there is little evidence that HCAI rates are increasing, fear and anxiety among members of the public regarding the potential to develop infection while a patient are running at an unprecedented level.
