Abstract

The thermo-electro-mechanical fracture problem of a piezoelectric strip containing a T-shaped crack is considered in this study. The problem is solved for a piezoelectric strip that is under thermo-electro-mechanical loadings. The crack faces are supposed to be completely insulated thermally and electrically. By using both the principle of superposition and the Fourier transform techniques, the isothermal electromechanical problem is reduced to a system of singular integral equations, respectively. The outline of the procedure for obtaining the crack face traction is also presented. The singular integral equations are solved numerically. Numerical calculations are carried out, and detailed results are presented to illustrate the influence of the geometric parameters on the stress and electric displacement intensity factors.
