Abstract
A flexible and reliable automatic positioning system for two detectors is described. Its main components are two stepper motors and optical encoders which permit an accurate positionning with 0.5 steps. The cost of the system is approximately $4000. The main features of the system are described and a summary of the tests made to verify its operational capabilities is presented.
