Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to the need to understand the scale and originality of the creative personality of the founder of Ukrainian classical music Mykola Lysenko. This article is based on the study of close interaction between different types of his creative activity.Main objective of the study is to reveal the relationship between the various types of creative activity of the artist.Methodology of research: 1) system analysis and comparison of different types of creative activity of M. Lysenko at different periods of his creative biography; 2) determination of leading and auxiliary types of his creative activity; 3) modeling the pattern of systemic relationships between different activities; 4) identification of key creative events of the creative biography of a musician; 5) sketch of the characteristic features of the individual creative appearance of the artist.Main results and conclusions. The author analyzed a number of classical and contemporary musicological works, as well as materials devoted to creativity of the artist. Memories of his relatives, friends and students have been also studied. He described and consistently explained the introsystem relations of Mykola Lysenko’s creative activity. The author discovered and researched successive changes in the development of the creative personality of the artist. In the paper the motivation sphere of M. Lysenko has been analyzed including the evaluation of his achievements by contemporaries. Quantitative and qualitative parameters of M. Lysenko’s activity, its intro-system connections and subordinations are studied for a more complete vision of his creative personality in the context of the era. According to the author, the role of the central, leading activity of M. Lysenko throughout his life has attached great importance to his place and involvement as musical-public figure of Ukrainian culture space. The creation of Ukrainian academic music based on the unique song heritage of the nation was the goal and the basis of his multifaceted creative activity. It is noted that the ratio of musical and social activity and all other activities of M. Lysenko can be compared with the ratio of purpose and means. Complex and branched connections between all kinds of creative activity of M. Lysenko functioned as a single creative organism and a flexible system of various interactions and compensations. This system was called the creative phenomenon of M. Lysenko, and its historical role was to create the foundation of Ukrainian musical culture.The significance of the research lies in the perspective of its results for the formation of a new, personality-oriented, concept of the history of Ukrainian music.
