Abstract
The synthesis of γ-graphyne, a planar carbon allotrope, has been a long-standing challenge in organic synthesis. In this issue of <i>Chem</i>, Wu and co-workers report an efficient synthesis of a molecular nano γ-graphyne, which provides remarkable insight into the aromaticity of the sp-sp2-hybridized carbon network.
