Abstract

The substitution of chromium and lanthanum in the M-type calcium ferrites has been investigated with its effect on the electrical and magnetic properties. The sample CaLaCr 11O 19 was characterized by X-ray diffraction. It was found to have a hexagonal magnetoplumbite structure. The variation of inverse molar susceptibility and conductivity have been measured from room temperature to 800 K. The thermoelectric studies were carried out for finding out the type of charge carrier.
