Abstract
Two silvers(I) supramolecular isomers {[Ag(bbta)(NO 3)] · H 2O} n ( 1), and [Ag(bbta)(NO 3)] 2 ( 2) have been synthesized in the different solvent systems by using the flexible ligand 1,2-bis(benzotriazol-1-yl)ethane (bbta). 1 forms novel one-dimensional concavo-convex chain. However, 2 contains the neutral dimer Ag 2(bbta) 2 18-membered metallacycle. The bbta ligands exhibit the anti and gauche conformations in 1 and 2, respectively. 1 and 2 are both the topological isomers and conformation isomers. The luminescent spectra of 1 and 2 in the solid state and in DMF solution at room temperature were determined.
