Abstract

Palladium complexes bearing new tridentate quinolino-based [N−NNox] ligands were synthesized and tested for the polymerization of norbornene. Upon activation of MAO, all the palladium complexes showed high catalytic activities for the vinyl-addition polymerization of norbornene up to 11.5 × 106 g of PNB (mol of Pd)−1h−1. The structure–activity relationships in the polymerization of norbornene, namely steric and electric effects of the ligands, were carefully investigated.
