Abstract

Hierarchical structure ternary Cu2SnSe3 (CTSe) microsphere, consist of nanosheet constitutional unit, has been successfully synthesized by solvothermal route. The Se powder and ethylenediamine were chosen as the Se precursor and reaction solvent. Under 323K temperature and constant stirring condition, the Se powder slowly dissolved into the solvent with homogeneous dispersion. The solvent not only acted as reducing agent but also morphology control agent. The obtained CTSe microsphere represents 15–20μm size with the uniform secondary structure 20–30nm thickness through scan electron microscopy (SEM) measurement. The direct band gap was up to 1.6eV and the photocatalytic H2 generation rate was 1.9 times higher than Degussa P25 TiO2 under the simulated solar light illumination.
