Abstract

Amphiphilic block copolymers were prepared starting from poly(2-chloroethyl vinyl ether)-block-poly(isobutyl vinyl ether) (PCEVE-b-PIBVE) via polymer analogous reaction. The chlorine function in the hydrophobic poly(2-chloroethyl vinyl ether) segment was substituted by polar groups to achieve block copolymers containing a hydrophilic poly(vinyl ether) segment. This procedure allows the synthesis of tailor made amphiphilic block copolymers.
