Abstract
AbstractMononuclear and dinuclear palladium‐centered boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) complexes, HBDPPdI and BDPPd2I2, respectively, were synthesized by the direct insertion of a palladium source into iodine‐substituted BODIPY chromophores. The molecular structures of both metal complexes were characterized using several analytical techniques, including single crystal x‐ray diffraction, to find that Pd(0) is coordinated directly to the ligand through a PdC bond facilitated by the insertion reaction. The photophysical properties of these complexes were also detailed.
