Abstract

A simple chemical method has been developed for the preparation of fringy CdSe wurtzite nanocrystals. The method is based on the template-engaged water-thermal synthesis in which the Se nanotubes were used as template reagent and NH3.H2O as reducer. The products were characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD, and XPS analyses. On the basis of a series of experiments and characterizations, the effect factors and the formation mechanism for the CdSe nanocrystals were discussed. Furthermore, the photochemical, electrochemical, and electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) properties of the CdSe nanocrystals were studied and significant results were obtained.
