Abstract

Abstract Some new ionic complexes of trichloro(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV) with N2S2 and S2O2 donor ligands derived from o-aminobenzenethiol have been synthesised. These complexes have been subjected to cyclisation resulting in macrocyclic complexes and secondary ligand addition reactions in order to study their effect on the coordination behaviour of the central titanium atom. The ligands, their complexes as well as reaction products were characterised using various spectro-chemical techniques. These complexes probably acquire octahedral geometries by planar coordination through four donor sites of the ligands, one axial position through the cyclopentadienyl group and the other through one chlorine atom.
