Abstract
Aromatic polyimides that contain amide side groups and are soluble in polar organic solvents, are obtained by reaction in solution of poly-( o-amino- o-carboxy) amides and aromatic dibasic acid anhydrides, followed by chemical imidization of the reaction products.
