Abstract
Two new Cd(II) supramolecular coordination polymers (CPs) formulated as [Cd(L1)(DCTP)]n (1) and {[Cd(L2)(HBTC)(H2O)]·H2O}n (2) [H2DCTP = 2,5-dichloroterephthalic acid, H3BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, L1 = 1,3-bis(2-methylbenzimidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene and L2 = 1,2-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene] were hydrothermally synthesized. Both CPs exhibit 2D (4,4) layered structures and further extend into 3D supramolecular frameworks by π–π stacking interactions for CP 1, OH⋯O classic hydrogen bonding interactions for CP 2, respectively. The luminescence and photocatalytic properties of CPs 1–2 for the degradation of methylene blue also presented.
