Abstract

A variety of di and polynuclear cobalt and iron complexes with di-azine Schiff bases have been synthesized and their structures and properties have been reported in literature. This review represents an overview on the synthetic strategies, structures and magnetic properties of these complexes. Only those complexes are considered in this review whose X-ray structures are available. Different methods for the synthesis of mono-, di- and poly-nuclear complexes are discussed. The structures of the complexes and their magnetic properties are compared. The less explored areas of potential applications of these complexes are also highlighted.
