Abstract

CdS nanoparticles were successfully immobilized on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs)via a simple solvothermal approach using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) both as medium and sulfursource. The dependences of size and morphology of CdS nanoparticles on the reaction duration,Cd2+ concentration, and medium were investigated. IR, thermogravimetry–differential scanningcalorimetry (TG–DSC), and UV–vis spectrometry were performed to understand theinteraction between CdS nanoparticles and MWNTs.
