Abstract

Abstract Novel alkyd resins based on the Camelina sativa oil as a new renewable raw material and glycerol as a polyol component were synthesized. Selected epoxidized vegetable oils (linseed oil and camelina oil) as new functional modifiers were used in the alcoholysis reaction with purified camelina oil. The influence of the added epoxidized linseed oil and epoxidized camelina oil on the course of alkyd resin synthesis and the properties of the final products were investigated. The glycerol-based alkyd resins with improved properties were produced.
