Abstract
Instead of the 1′-hydroxy-4′-keto-2′,6′,6′-trimethyl-2′-cyclohexen-1′-yl group of abscisic acid, 3-methylpentadienoic acids with cyclohexenyl, methylcyclohexenyl, furyl, phenyl, hydroxy-phenyl and hydroxy-methylphenyl groups at their 5-position were synthesized from simple alicyclic and aromatic aldehydes. Growth inhibitory activities of these compounds were examined.
