Abstract

Abstract This paper deals with the synchronization problem of two nonlinear systems via bidirectional sampled-data couplings with delay. In particular, we consider the synchronization problems for the following two cases: (a) output-delay systems with sampled-data coupling, (b) sampled-data systems with transmission delay. First, we derive a sufficient condition for synchronization in the first case. The obtained condition clarifies the relationship among the sampling interval, coupling strength, and time delay to achieve synchronization. After that, we show that the synchronization condition for the second case is the same as that of the first case if the time delay is constant. Numerical simulations illustrate the validity of the obtained results.
