Abstract

Abstract The switching characteristics of SSFLC cells with chevron layer structure are investigated by means of simulations based on a model of the surface-anchoring energy at the substrates and at the chevron interface of SSFLC cells. The memory states which appear after a voltage pulse is turned off are studied. It is found that the switching process of SSFLC cells is deeply affected by the surface anchoring conditions.
